The slogan “catch them young and they will live to code” cannot be better used as Produce Africa Development and Entrepreneurial Initiative is wielding the strength of its programs to support its mission to multiply the likes of Divyank Turakhia and Mark Zuckerberg at their early age by presenting coding as an attractive, interesting and rewarding instrument to set the foundation for innovation and leadership through problem-solving. Since 2019, through its Program, ProduceAfrica ICode, the NGO has trained over 300 teenagers on android application development in the yearly August-September code series and workshops in Lagos State.

PADEI is raising the bar on what coding for teenagers should look like while stirring up their interest to become skillful entrepreneurs.

Teenagers between the ages of 9 and 18 are the beneficiaries. The NGO reaches out to engage them in their communities in an effort to discover, inspire and empower the generation that will shape tomorrow’s Nigeria.

Produce Africa Development and Entrepreneurial Initiative is partnering with Nigerians In Diaspora Organization, Germany, an organization that has a keen interest in bringing development to the IT sector in Nigeria in a bid to replicate the opportunities its members enjoy in Europe. AMF Bank, TechCabal Media, and other stakeholders are also in collaboration in the execution of ProduceAfrica Code Challenge 2022.

During the event, an award will be presented to the winner of ProduceAfrica Teen’s Idol 2022, a special award category that promotes leadership by recognizing a top young achiever across any sector who has consistently toed the part of a role model to teenagers in Africa, with exemplifying track record of good conducts. Three young and outstanding individuals shall be nominated for this category and the winner shall be determined by public votes.
