NGO empowers widows in Lagos

A non-governmental organisation, Linus Idahosa Foundation for Empowerment Africa, has empowered widows in the Epe Local Government area of Lagos State.

According to a statement on Monday, the outreach programme was held on April 11 to provide business training and unemployement solutions to widows.

The founder, LIFE Africa, Linus Idahosa, stated that the group is dedicated to sowing the seeds of empowerment and change for widows, noting that unemployment would be decreased by developing their skills and providing them with opportunities for work and entrepreneurship.

He urged the public to acknowledge the struggles of widows and support them with necessities to thrive.

The Elenjinrin of Ejinrin Kingdom, Oba Rafiu Balogun, applauded the LIFE Africa group for their kindness and dedication to empowering widows in Epe while urging the widows to make good use of the resources given to them to sustain their families.

The statement partly reads, “The Linus Idahosa Foundation for Empowerment Africa, focused on its holistic commitment to fostering empowerment among widows and the well-being of marginalised communities, held an outreach programme for widows in the Epe community of Lagos on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

“Linus Idahosa, founder of LIFE Africa, expressed empathy for these resilient women in society, remarking that we cannot say we understand what it means to be in these women’s shoes. We understand, however, the fundamental role that husbands play in the family as leaders, providers, and protectors.”
