NGO targets youths for Africa transformation

A youth-focused development organisation, LEAP Africa, has said it will empower young people to transform Africa to an enviable position.

A statement by the NGO, mentioned that it would engage the youths at the forthcoming Youth Day of Service which would hold from the 12th to the  18th of August 2022 and in collaboration with other youth-focused organisations.

It read, ‘‘The Youth Day of Service is an annual LEAP Africa programme  in collaboration with other youth-focused organisations, designed to pull together pockets of interventions and engagements by young people to fuel Africa’s transformation.

‘‘It aim is to harness Africa’s youth’s engagement, creativity, and voice by equipping them with the resources, skills, and tools to engage in personal and community transformation to help actualise the Sustainable Development Goals in Africa of which the African continents is only halfway towards achieving the SDG goals and targets by 2030.’’

It explained that the target for this year’s YDoS was to get 6000 volunteers who would reach 1,500,000 beneficiaries through different projects in at least 27 countries in East, West, Central and Southern Africa.

‘‘Leap Africa is a youth-focused development organisation established in 2002. The organisation recognises that raising leaders is critical to nation-building and wealth creation.

“Leap Africa has inspired and equipped youth and social entrepreneurs to lead ethically while implementing initiatives that transform their communities and organisations, sustaining livelihood and contributing to national development,’’ the statement read in part.
