EU in Eswatini marks World NGO Day 2024

The cash was raised from an art auction as a part of an art exhibition, which the EU supported, in which 10 local and international artists, through their creative artworks, spoke out against GBV whilst at the same time expressing their solidarity with the survivors of this scourge. The artworks were then auctioned with the proceeds donated to the 10 NGOs engaged in the fight against GBV: in advocacy, running shelters and safe spaces, providing socio-economic and mental health support.

The beneficiary NGOs are; Women Unlimited, Haven of Hope, Hosea’s Heart, Joyful Hearts, Kwakha Indvodza, One Billion Rising, Phumelela Project, Sight of Hope, Sivusative Nengcebo and Women and Law in Southern Africa. All the recipient NGOs appreciated the opportunity to engage and thanked the EU and Yebo for the contributions, which they said will go a long way in the fight against GBV in Eswatini. The Executive Director of CANGO (Coordinating Assembly of Non-Governmental Organisations), Thembinkosi Dlamini, who also attended the event, also appreciated the gesture from the EU and Yebo and said it will make a huge difference in the lives of emaSwati survivors of GBV.
