As part of her efforts to enhance the livelihood of women and give them a meaningful living standard, Nollywood actress and producer Monalisa Chinda through her humanitarian organization, Arise Monalisa Foundation has concluded arrangements for the disbursement of funds to at least 300 women engaged in business ventures.

The project which is in collaboration with One Percent International cuts across the country as selection team is to pick potential beneficiaries from all regions of the country.

At a press briefing in Abuja recently, Chinda and the Chief Executive Officer of One Percent International, Amb. Stephanie Nnadi, noted that a transparent selection modality has been put in place.

According to the Nollywood star, “I collaborate with One percent to reach out to young people that are doing business. We are not restricted to any particular persons, we want to help women to grow their businesses.

“The help will be through training and other avenue. We are giving them monetary grant, but we will monitor them to see how they grow.”

She added that her Foundation has put in place programmes which seek to inspire and nurture talents and potentials in women and children and create pathways to inclusion and prosperity for them.

The Foundation also highlighted its women empowerment programmes as well as promote its services for female and young entrepreneurs.

A dedicated website has been set up where interested applicants can submit their proposal and why they feel they deserve the fund disbursement, the Foundations said.

They added that a minimum of 1000 persons are expected at the main event scheduled for March 28, where the benefactors will be selected.

Chinda said, “We will put experts and consultants to monitor them. What we are giving them is free. But we will monitor them to see how they grow.”

She further stressed that robust programmes have been put in place for rural women, where they will be captured for various impactful campaigns of the foundations.

Responding to the press, the brand Strategist, Uchenna Lawrence Amadi said that the exercise is still open for both private sector and government partnership and sponsorship to ensure a bigger empowerment exercise for the women. He stressed that project of this magnitude is not limited to individual or NGOs but still available for those who are interested in making impact to humanity.

The much anticipated event will hold on 28th March 2024 at Wells Carlton Hotel, Asokoro amidst pomp and pageantry.
